About Us A mountain-based organization, Mountain to Mountains mission is to promote education and community development by creating ties with mountain communities at home and abroad. The organization supports education and indigenous community development projects in under-served mountain areas around the world. By coordinating outreach for our partner charities on the ground, we are committed to raising funds and awareness for the creation, growth and sustainability of community-driven projects in high altitude regions. Our mountain-based athletic and cultural events, and international speaking series, enable Mountain to Mountain to cultivate strong, grassroots connections here at home, which empower individuals to be catalysts for change in the global community. Mountain to Mountain is based in Breckenridge, Colo. and online at www.mountain2mountain.com. Breckenridge, Colorado businesswoman, Shannon Galpin started "Mountain to Mountain" in November 2006 in order to spearhead fundraising efforts for community projects in remote mountain areas around the world. Built upon the vision of uniting like-minded mountain communities with a single cause, Mountain to Mountain will help fund and promote projects, specifically in the areas of education and environmental awareness, in underserved mountain communities around the world. It is our vision that each year, Mountain to Mountain will support a variety of partner charities, all focused on education or the environment in remote mountain villages. In seven short months, Mountain to Mountain raised over $100,000 for CAI, enough to build and endow two schools in Central Asia, and created enough momentum and support to move forward into future projects with other like-minded organizations. It is our belief that our mountain communities can play an active and unique role in promoting education for children in other mountain communities across the globe.
