Global Connections

Mountain to Mountain is committed to raising awareness and funds for its partner organizations to highlight their work in remote mountain villages globally.

The dZi Foundation develops sustainable programs that positively impact individuals and communities within the Himalayan region. Our work is focused in the areas of education, health and welfare. These programs are designed to serve within the existing social framework, maintaining particular sensitivity to local culture and tradition.

The dZi Foundation
For the 2007-08 cycle, Mountain to Mountain is partnering with the dZi Foundation to connect our community with one of the most remote, Himalayan villages in Nepal. Through the Revitalize a Village project, Mountain to Mountain and the dZi Foundation will raise money and awareness to help the village of Gudel accomplish sustainable community development through educational initiatives focused on literacy, healthcare and income generation.

Central Asia Institute - to promote and provide community-based education and literacy programs, especially for girls, in remote mountain regions of Central Asia.

Central Asia Institute
The story that started it all....Mountain to Mountain first cycle of fundraising on behalf of Central Asia Institute was a huge success, raising over $100,000. With the support of hundreds of community members, Mountain to Mountain raised sufficient funds to enable the building of two Central Asia Institute schools in Pakistan. The first, the Nowaseri school in Neelam Valley, in the Kashmir earthquake area of Pakistan, is already being built. The second school's location has not yet been named.
